		<description>This post reminded me of the writings of Ted Rockwell.  He worked on both the Manhattan Project and the early development of the US Nuclear Navy.  One thing he emphasized was that most of the effort was expended by young people.  They essentially built a huge infrastructure quickly and without detailed knowledge due to the newness of the technologies.  I realize that these projects may be controversial today, but they are examples of young people leading the way on difficult technological challenges in the face of high uncertainty.</description>
